It is with much excitement that our legal team from Basch & Keegan, LLP in Kingston can announce that we have reopened our law office doors to our community! After months of being in lockdown, businesses in New York are getting the green light to return to a regularly scheduled workday and office environment, as long as precautions are taken to limit the spread of the coronavirus. We are committed to taking all steps necessary to protect our clients and our staff from the dangers of COVID-19. Here, we share our virus safety plan.

Key details of our new safety protocols to fight the spread of the coronavirus:

  • Entry: We ask all visitors to call (845) 251-4545 when arriving at our law office to let us know you are outside. Visitors must wear a facemask at all times while in the office. Weare offering visitors free disposable facemasks if they do not have one. We ask that visitors enter through the backdoor only, where we have set up a health safety station. Visitors are asked to apply hand sanitizer upon entering the building. Visitors will exit out the front door.
  • Document drop-off: If your only purpose for coming to the office is to drop off papers for your lawyer, then you do not need to enter the office. We now offer a secure dropbox at the back of the building. We will check the dropbox twice daily at 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • Staff safety procedures: We are requiring all staff members to wear facemasks whenever entering or exiting the building, or while in any common area. Facemasks must also be kept on-hand at all times and worn whenever another person comes within 6 feet of a staff member. Hand sanitizing stations have been set up around the office and require frequent use. We are also staggering each staff member’s work-from-home and in-office days to minimize how many people can be in the office at any given time. Furthermore, we are requiring all staff members to fill out a daily questionnaire to screen for coronavirus risks, such as if a staff member attended a crowded event in the last 14 days.
  • Appointments: The majority of our appointments with clients will be handled remotely, such as through telephone calls or video conferencing apps. In-office appointments will still remain limited. We will not allow more than one client in our office at any time. Sanitization procedures will be used before and after each client’s appointment in the designated conference room. We ask that all visitors call the office to announce their presence at the building and before entering.

If you have more questions about what we are doing to keep everyone safer during the coronavirus pandemic, then please dial (845) 251-4545 to speak with a member of Basch & Keegan, LLP in Kingston. We would be happy to give you additional details, so you can feel 100% confident if your case requires you to visit our office in-person.
