See Lawyers Run!
Basch & Keegan is excited to be a major sponsor of the 28th Annual Shamrock Run, which will take place on March 13th, 2016 in Kingston, NY. This year’s Shamrock Run will be in honor of Steve Schallenkamp and the proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund. The Semper Fi Fund is an organization that provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 wounded, critically ill, and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. This cause is especially dear to us because Eli Basch is a Vietnam Veteran and Maureen Keegan’s son, Captain Ryan M. Bolles USMC, is in training as a Forward Air Controller.
For many of us here in Kingston, the Shamrock Run is the unofficial marker for the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. Everyone comes out to brave the elements, support a good cause, and celebrate the Irish cultural influence that has been so important in our community.
This year, the race organizers hope to set the Guinness World Record for the number of runners in kilts! To date, this illustrious record is held by the Perth Running Goats Club of Ontario, Canada, boasting a whopping total of 1,764 kilt-wearing runners in one race. Purchase your kilt at a $10 discount! Kilts will also be available on the day before the race at T-shirt pickup.
If all that wasn’t good enough, Basch and Keegan will be teaming up with Uptown Coffee to provide FREE hot chocolate and other goodies for participants and spectators before the race. We will have a tent near the performance stage on the Academy Green where you can warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and meet some of our Attorneys before the race!
