Our fees and billing practices

Our attorneys’ fee for most cases is one-third of the compensation recovered, minus disbursements. The New York State Bar Association mandates that lawyers disclose that we are entitled to recover our expenses at the conclusion of your case, even in the unlikely event that we are unsuccessful. However, Basch & Keegan has never collected disbursements in any case in which we did not obtain a verdict or settlement for our client.

Typical disbursements include lawsuit filing fees, court fees, doctors’ fees for sending us copies of your medical records, private investigator costs and stenographer fees. We do not charge our clients for phone calls, postage, mileage, tolls, photocopying or faxes.
