Falls

One of our most prominent settlements was $3,300,000.00 for a woman who fell through a rotted floor in a house that she was renting.  She made numerous complaints to the landlord before the incident, but the landlord ignored her concerns. 

Our fall cases mostly arise from slipping on ice, or tripping on a dangerous object or condition.  The law requires landowners to maintain their property in a reasonably safe condition, and they are held liable if their failure to do so results in an injury. 

We also handle falls at construction sites.  The law is very favorable to workers who are injured at construction sites, particularly when the worker falls or an object falls and strikes the worker.  We have represented many people who were injured as a result of defective scaffolding, ladders, hoists and pulleys, as well as people who suffered an injury due to a negligent crane operator.
